Umuahia Brothel: 2 lifeless and six unconscious bodies recovered - Police

Contrary to initial reports, two persons were found dead and six unconscious under mysterious circumstances at a popular brothel known as 50-50 Bar, located at Uyo Street in Umuahia, the Abia State capital on Wednesday morning, September 28th. Six others, including the manager of the brothel were discovered unconscious and taken to the hospital where they are battling for their lives.

The brothel is said to be home to over 50 sex workers.
The police Abia State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nta Ogbonaya Nta, who confirmed the incident said that bodies of the victims had been evacuated and taken to an undisclosed hospital in Umuahia.

He said the dead persons were a man and a woman while the six persons found unconscious were all male, adding that the cause of the deaths was yet to be determined.

"We recovered two lifeless and six unconscious bodies from the building which we took to the hospital. Only the doctor can confirm them dead or otherwise" he said.

The state Police Commissioner, Mr. Leye Oyebade, had already visited the scene of the incident and ordered an investigation, while the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Central Police Station, Umuahia, Mr. Onyeke Udeviotu, led a team of police men to cordon off the area.

Mr Nta said the brothel had been deserted by the time the police arrived, following the alarm raised by people but he said that the police would interrogate the owner of the brothel. The owner of the storey building housing the brothel was said to have relocated from Port Harcourt to Umuahia after buying and renovating the property.

Residents of Uyo Street claimed that the deceased were victims of “supernatural forces”, as the distraught sex workers were heard shouting “ghost, ghost” at about 8 a.m. yesterday while running from the premises.

Photos/Video: Drunk driver crashes his employer's Mercedes-Benz SUV into 4 parked cars in Lagos

According to Cool FM oap Freeze, this happened this morning at 1004 apartments, Victoria Island, Lagos. Narrating what happened, he said the driver crashed a black Mercedes-Benz M-Class SUV into four cars that were parked.

"This crazy episode was attributed to drunk driving, as his colleagues made statements like "Ti ko ba iti high laaro kutukutu!" And "o ti mu oti yo!" Dear Nigerians, please run a background check on domestic staff before employing them, what if your children were in that car or playing behind that car?

I can only imagine the sorrow the owner of the car has to endure this morning, as he coughs out nearly 2 million Naira in this recession, to pay for the damaged cars!"

 Thankfully no life was lost and no one was injured. The driver has since been taken to the nearest police station.

Brad Pitt releases a second statement on his divorce

In a second statement since his separation, the actor said he won't be attending the red carpet screening of Voyage of Time, a documentary he narrated which is happening tomorrow.

Female Pennsylvania police officer fired for writing racial slur on Snapchat while wearing police uniform

A female police officer in Pennsylvania, Melissa Adamson, has  lost her job after she posted a Snapchat selfie showing herself in uniform — and using a racial slur.

The snap showed Melissa , a part-time cop in McKeesport, wearing a uniform and sunglasses in a car, with the caption, “I’m the law today n---a.”  Once her bosses got wind of the snapchat photo, they fired her and she also resigned from another part-time police officer job in Versailles.

She called the photo “a stupid mistake” — and insisted she’s not a racist.

“Everyone that knows me knows I don’t have a racist bone in my body,” she said 

“And people who don’t know me, I can understand why it was misconstrued to where it looks racist. But like I said, everyone who knows me knows I'm not racist. I don't want this to affect how I do my job.”

Melissa posted the photo on Facebook and that's how her superiors got to see the it.

“This post displays a degree of conduct and character that is far different from what I would expect from an officer in this city,” Mayor Michael Cherepko wrote in a Facebook post. 

It is absolutely unacceptable. Without hesitation, my office and the police chief's office immediately concluded that this officer's actions will not be tolerated in the City of McKeesport.”

Militants blow up another NPDC facility in Delta

Militants under the aegis Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate NDJM, today claimed responsibility for the attack of another Nigeria Petroleum Development Company, NPDC delivery line in Delta State. The militants claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement released today by its self styled Gen Aldo Agbalaja. The statement in part reads;

“As a mark of our commitment to a just course and to prove to the wicked and ungrateful multinational oil companies and their Nigerian military allies, who have been forcefully taking our natural endowment, without any visible returns, that we own our lands, the Opudo Strike Team of the Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate, at about 01. 00 hour today , 29th Sept 2016, bombed the Unenurhie-Evwreni delivery line in ughelli south/north respectively operated by NPDC.

We want to assure the oil multinational companies that we are determined to end their operations in our lands and this we shall if they fail to show the will to change their relationship with our people and their operational attitude in our lands.  For the avoidance of doubts, we want to say here, categorically, that no amount of military protection/presence can stop this whirlpool, no amount of shoddily arranged military operation can quell the will of our gallant army. The same way their Operation Crocodile Smile was sunken by our Operation Crocodile Tears is how all their schemes against our land and people will continue to be defeated.
